Rebecca’s Story.

Rebecca is a fine artist who lives in Staffordshire with her husband Lee and son Louis. In 2012 after lots of encouragement from her family she went back to studying to pursue a career within the creative industries which had been her dream as a child.

After achieving her degree at a local college on a fine art course run by Staffordshire University, she went on to study teaching to pass on her knowledge, skills and love of painting to students in a college setting.

However, after qualifying and studying solidly for 4 years at the same time as juggling being a mum and all that goes with that demanding role, she decided the pressure and time demands of teaching was too much to cope with.

"The experiences I gained during my teacher training has definitely impacted positively on my delivery style when it comes to filming my workshops and running my local painting classes. I have received so many wonderful comments by students who love my approach to teaching."

Rebecca is a long-term sufferer of Fibromyalgia, having been diagnosed at the early age of 16 she manages physical limitations and tiredness on a daily basis. The positive outcome of which was the choice to set up Rebecca Jarman Artist and work freelance, giving her the flexibility she needed to stay healthy.

"It's such a wonderful job being a freelance artist. My roles are very varied which keeps me inspired and motivated, it lifts my mood and enables me to stay positive on days when my Fibromyalgia raises it's not so pretty head."

Rebecca now provides painting courses for adults, teaching different application techniques in watercolour painting. She provides highly detailed step by step demonstrations along with lots of advice and guidance throughout her online video workshops and painting courses.

Rebecca also gives demonstrations to local art groups and organisations, offering a number of workshops in painting and printmaking.

Here on Rebecca's website, you will find a range of watercolour painting courses and video workshops for you to choose from and don't leave without exploring the vast selection of free mini classes she has produced during the Coronavirus lock down to help inspire as many people to take up painting no matter their age or ability.
